The Leaders Rheum is seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The primary responsibility of this role is ensuring the timely and accurate billing and collection of payments for medical services provided to patients. You will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to navigate the complexities of medical billing and ensure financial sustainability for the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Billing and Coding: Review medical records to assign appropriate billing codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) for procedures and diagnoses.
• Claims Submission: Prepare and submit accurate and timely insurance claims to insurance companies.
• Insurance Verification: Verify patients’ insurance coverage and eligibility for services.
• Follow-up: Monitor unpaid claims and follow up with insurance companies and patients to ensure prompt payment.
• Payment Posting: Record payments received and reconcile accounts.
• Denials Management: Investigate and appeal claim denials as necessary.
• Patient Billing: Generate patient statements and answer billing inquiries.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing guidelines.
• Financial Reporting: Provide reports on billing and collections activities to management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CPB) is a plus.
